Update #10: First Batch Delivered in Thailand

Dear Valued Backers,
We trust that this message finds you well. After several hiccups in the process of making TAAN THAI a reality, we are finally at the stage where goods are on the way to you! Last week, we successfully processed all Kickstarter orders in Thailand. It should be delivered to some of you by now. Our next delivery batch will be in the US and, per the freight schedule, will arrive by the third week of July. It will take around one week to finish the customs clearance, so we should be able to process all orders by the beginning of August.
As proud as we are of this achievement, we are also very grateful for your support and understanding in keeping pushing and supporting us to this point. We are very much looking forward to hearing your honest opinions about our products. Let us know how you feel, and any suggestions or recommendations are welcome!

Update #9: Products are on the way!

Dear TAAN THAI Backers,
We trust this message finds you well. We would like to provide you with an update about TAAN THAI products. Good news! Our products passed the final lab tests and are now on the way to the US. We loaded everything on the ship this week, and they are expected to arrive by the last week of July. It may take a week or so to do the customs clearing, and by the beginning of August, we can ship all of your orders! For our Thai backers, since we do not need to wait for the sea freight, we will ship our products around the beginning of July.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and understanding. The production process is all very new to us. Even though we added some cushion in the timeline, we still encountered some unexpected issues that resulted in a significant delay from the original schedule. However, our priority is to provide you with the best products that you can share with your loved ones.
Thank you again for believing in our products in the first place and, of course, for your patience and understanding. We hope that you will also like the small gifts we provided in the Kickstarter Box!
In the previous post, we give you a small glimpse of the Pah Kao Ma Bags. Today, we would like to share the story of the person who made this product. Introducing Ms. Nyen, a local seamstress in Suphanburi Province. She has been working as a freelance seamstress since she was 18 years old. For over 40 years, she made all kinds of dresses and clothing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was forced to close her physical shop in the market and is now only receiving orders and working at home. We partnered with her on the design of the bags, and she is the one who made these awesome tote bags and utensil bags available to you!
We hope that in our next updates, we will be able to ship our products to your doorsteps and let you enjoy our products with your own creations!

Update #8: Production Progress and the PHA KAO MA Bags!

Dear TAANTHAI Backers
We trust that this message finds you well. In our previous update, we shared with you the news regarding the pesticide residue issues with our suppliers. Now, we have some good news to share with you!
We are able to find another supplier with no pesticide issue, based on the lab test. There is. however, one product for which we are still waiting for the final confirmation of the lab result. Indeed, we went and found an organic-grade supplier to make sure that the issue did not arise again. Currently, they are under production. We should be able to ship all of our products by the third week of June and deliver them to you by the end of July (as updated last time) or the beginning of August if things go according to plan. Next week we’re going to visit the shipping yard and warehouse in Long Beach, CA, to survey the location where the the shipment will come in. We will also keep you posted on this!
Another good news is that we finished the production of PAH KAO MA utensil tote bags and utensil bags, ready to be shipped with our first batch! In our next update, we will share the story of the person who created these awesome bags for us.
The past month has been difficult for us to find another supplier in such a short time, but the most important thing is to deliver the best products to you and your loved ones. We will keep you posted on our progress. We sincerely apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

Update #6: Delivery Delay

Dear TAANTHAI Backers,
We trust this letter finds you well. We have some important news to keep you up-to-date with our situation. We ran into some issues with the raw materials with the pesticide residue issue, after sampling for the lab test, and we are currently looking for new raw material suppliers to ensure that they are producing the best possible products for us.
While a delay is extremely frustrating, we take the quality and safety of our products seriously because we know that you and your loved ones, as well as our loved ones, will be enjoying TAANTHAI. With this in mind, we are doing even more sampling and are committed to checking our products in every batch before they are delivered. So, if there is any issue in any of the samples, we will not let it slip.
Therefore, we would like to let you know that the delivery of our products will be delayed for approximately two months (around the end of July), depending on how fast we find new suppliers of the raw materials.
We keep working hard on this and thank you for your understanding. Once we find new raw material suppliers that fit our criteria, we will confirm again for the new shipping date. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Update #5: Getting Ready for the First Shipment from Thailand!

Hello again!
We are back with another big update! Now that we are in the final stage of production and shipment, let us give you a quick run of what we have been up to in the past month. Indeed, it has been a very busy month for us. Here are our updates:
- Based on feedback from our friends and families, we added 15% more for Khao Soi Noodle, Tom Kha Coconut Soup, and Holy Basil Stir-Fried (Pad Kra Pao). Now, you will be able to enjoy even bigger portions at home!
- Also, based on feedback, we have improved the tastes of Tom Kha Coconut Soup and Holy Basil Stir-Fried (as certified by our friends and families).
- Thai tea without food coloring will also be available as an option instead of traditional Thai tea. They have the same taste, just without the orange color.
Having finalized all the tasting sessions and lab tests, we are now in the production phase (a bit delayed from our original plan). We plan to ship out by April 20th and hopefully arrive in the US by the end of May to be delivered to your home.
To facilitate our process, we ask you to:
- Fill out the Thai Tea form, and let us know which version you’d prefer (traditional Thai tea or without food coloring) by clicking on this link. If you don’t let us know by the end of this month, we will send you traditional Thai tea.
- Fill out the survey form we sent out via BackerKit (if you haven’t done so, you should receive an email reminder soon). The survey includes your shipping address for us. So, please fill out the survey! We will lock in the orders by the end of this month.
